Biography
Steve heads the Gold Coast’s Environment & Planning practice group. The specialist 11-lawyer team is the largest on the Gold Coast, with involvement in some of region’s most significant greenfield, urban renewal and infrastructure projects for local government and developer clients.
He is acknowledged as a leading expert in the area of coastal floodplain development, having successfully conducted landmark cases that established the blueprint for development on constrained sites in the City.
The team’s ability to integrate the various planning and legal issues and their experience in leading teams of consultants from diverse disciplines puts them at the forefront of innovative and challenging projects under the Gold Coast’s new performance-based planning scheme.
Steve has held the Chair of the Property Council of Australia Gold Coast Planning Committee and is actively involved in working groups to manage City-wide planning issues, such as response strategies to the South East Queensland Regional Plan.
