Biography

Alberto practices in corporate and securities law with a wide range of experience in mergers and acquisitions (negotiated, friendly and hostile), corporate reconstructions, capital raisings and initiating/defending Board spills. He has been involved in a number of high profile public company takeovers, reconstructions and capital raisings, including most recently acting for Healthscope and Gloucester Coal in their respective takeover proposals, for DuluxGroup in its demerger from Orica and as Australian legal adviser to Tiger Airways in its listing on the Singapore Stock Exchange.

Alberto's clients include a number of publicly listed companies and substantial Australian and foreign-owned private companies. In recent years, Alberto has acted for Computershare, ANZ, Heinz, Repco, Village Roadshow, Toll Holdings, Webjet, Funtastic, Incitec Pivot, Thorney Holdings, Linfox and SPC Ardmona. Through his involvement with these and other clients, Alberto has gained a wide range of industry sector experience including in food and beverage, tourism and leisure, aviation, media and entertainment, mining, agri-business, automotive, manufacturing, retail, transport and logistics.

Alberto has published numerous articles and regularly presents on current developments in corporate and securities law. Recent articles include:
